Adopt a Cow Program

For the past four years, our class has participated in an exciting virtual program called 'Adopt a Cow' run by the Dairy Excellence Foundation. The students have enjoyed getting pictures and updates about our adopted calves who were named Violet (2020-2021 school year), Adele (2021-2022 school year), Paislee (2022-2023 school year), and Bella (2024-2025 school year). They were all from a dairy farm in Pennsylvania- Zahncroft Dairy Farm in Womelsdorf, PA. The students were able to view different live streams throughout the year to see the calves up close, tour the farm, and learn about their daily routine and process. We also completed fun, educational, cross curricular activities in health class regarding the calves' growth, diet, etc. The students really enjoyed the activities, and we are looking forward to it again this year as something unique and special to fourth grade at Our Lady of Fatima!

More information will be coming at the start of the school year about the program and this year's adopted cow! We're looking forward to learning more about her and her dairy farm!
